SiDiGoo/Master
Na’Quavaha Mutakabbir 5th
Degree Black Belt
Na’Quavaha
Mutakabbir,
wife of Sijo/Grandmaster
Abdul Mutakabbir, is a 5th Degree Black Belt within
the SWAM Academy of Modern Martial Arts.
She started her training as the only female at New York City’s
legendary SWAM, within the infancy years of this 30 -year-old
organization. During
those 27 years of consistent training she acquired her Master rank and gave birth to Sijo/Grandmaster Mutakabbir’s
two youngest sons. Both
of their children are considered “DOJO BABIES”, born and trained in the martial arts all their lives. The 22-year-old, Kinyumba,
is ranked a 1st Degree Black Belt and the 14-year-old, Khalid,
is ranked an Brown Belt.
The equivalence between the time frame of training and the rank
received shows that it is very difficult to acquire rank in the SWAM
Academy of Modern Martial Arts. Na’Quavaha have
been awarded over one hundred trophies, medals and titles in
both katas and semi-contact fighting.
Through the 7 - year span of competition, she received
winnings in approximately 90% of the total participated competitions.
Out of the 90% winnings, approximately 75% of them are 1st
place. Through the
loyalty of her training, competing, and teaching for 19 years of
the powerful FuJuKa Boxing System exclusively, she was given the title
as top female instructor, “SiDiGoo” which means “Mother
of SWAM”.
This has allowed her to establish a unique division of the SWAM Academy
of Modern Martial Arts. Through
the sanction of her instructor, Sijo/Grandmaster Mutakabbir, she
developed Sisters With
Alert Minds
Private Training Camp. From
this division, Na’Quavaha was able to develop private sessions for
women only. “I
have established self-defense and fitness workshops, which consist of
lectures, literatures, and demonstrations.
This program accommodates all women and its purpose is to
acquire physical, mental and emotional safety and wellness.”
explains
Na’Quavaha. Understanding
the Billy Banks’ “TAEBO®”
craze, she enhanced her wisdom by including the knowledge of fitness.
Na’Quavaha completed the Professional Fitness and Nutrition
Program with a cumulative grade point average of 99.
She also became certified as a Personal Trainer under the
AFAA ,Aerobics and Fitness Association of America, as well as an aerobic kickboxer
